The square-drive recess prevents camming and slippage even during high-torque driving. Black oxide treatment chemically alters the color of the stainless steel to create a matte black finish. This also helps with corrosion and abrasion resistance. This screw is not recommended for use in ACQ / pressure treated lumber or exterior applications.
